Specific equipments and instruments

Besides basic instrumental, TOXIKÓN Higiene Industrial own several modern and efficient instruments as:

  • Gas Chromatograph (GC) equiped with automatic sample injection, different columns (packed or capillar), electron capture or flame ionization detectors and microprocessor controlled operation and registration systems. See photos at "Visiting TOXIKÓN"
  • High pressure liquid cromatograph (HPLC) equiped with automatic sample injection, on line solvent degasing, microprocessor controlled operation and registration systems, temperature and solvent gradient forming device and a variety of columns kind and length. See photos at "Visiting TOXIKÓN"
  • Atomic absorption spectrophotometer (AAS) with automatic sampling and microprocessor controlled operation and registration systems, using flame, hydrate generation and graphite furnace. See photos at "Visiting TOXIKÓN"
  • Precision weighing Balance microprocessor controlled with 0,00001g precision. See photos at "Visiting TOXIKÓN"
Aparatus and instruments are submited to a rigorous technical control with preventive and corrective maintenance contracts kept with capable companies, aiming to assure keeping instrument's performance.

Standarized and validated techniques and methods

All methods used for analysis are based on internationally recognized criterion. Validation processes are performed according to standarized protocols. Efficiency and stability are perfectly defined, some time using standarized atmosphere, dinamically generated at the laboratory: a unique service in our country!

    Quality control programs

TOXIKÓN Higiene Industrial participate on regular basis of the following international quality control programs:

    1. 3M: a program that comprise all laboratories outside the United States that perform analysis on 3M passive monitors. Directed to organic solvents, coordinated by main laboratory (3M OH&ESD, St. Paul, MN)
    2. INSHT / Spain: an occupational research institution part of the spanish work Ministry. A total of 22 laboratories, from Spain and other countries participate of this trimestrial control program, for the analysis of solvents in charcoal tubes. Linked to PAT (Proficiency Analytical Testing Program) from AIHA (American Industrial Hygiene Association).
Aiming to achive consistent results over the time TOXIKÓN Higiene Industrial laboratories function under ISO (Guide 25) norms. This way, all calibrating, gauging, maintenance and analysis documenting procedures are controlled and register. Periodically the laboratory is audited by the hygiene personnel of the local units and the principal offices of several clients.

    Adequated documentation and archiving systems

All reports go along with limits table from Brazil (
Cuadro I del Anexo 11 de la NR-15) or foreign countries (TLV's from ACGIH, PEL's from OSHA, MAK/TRK's from Germany and in some cases REL's from NIOSH or WEEL's from AIHA).
Documentation of functional, analytical and managment processes is standardized and highly priorized. All solicitations, results, routines, non conformities, etc. are adequately documented using computerized systems. This documentation allows tracking of an analysis long time after it is done.
Back up copies comprising all data are kept at secure places:
