Biological sampling

A technically well done sampling, at the right moment, as well as good storage and adequate transportation of the samples are very important factors for the obtention of reliable results.
By several ways (ilustrative pamphlets, letters, telephone, fax, e-mail and this Internet site) TOXIKÓN Assessoria Toxicológica render orientation about the adequate ways and time for performing the sampling procedure.
TOXIKÓN supply clients with all the necessary and adequate material for the obtention (bottles, vacutainers®, syringes, needles, etc.) identification (individual personalized labels), storage and shiping (gel packs and styrofoam box) of samples.
For drugs of abuse, TOXIKÓN developed and offers clients a special sampling kit.
A trained technical staff and assistant team might, when requested, perform or supervise the whole sampling process at client premises. Based on the number of samples and the travel distance, this service might by done without any additional charge. Ask us!

Shiping Instructions

All speciments prepared for transportion to TOXIKÓN must follow these general instructions:
  1. samples must be individually identified using autoadhesive labels. Identification should include worker's name and/or a unique identifying number;
  2. samples must be suitably packed, on ice-box, containing enough gel packs (Gelo-X or similar) according to the expected transportation time. Containers must be adequately uphold to avoid that shaking and vibration during transportation provoke breakage or specimen spilling;
  3. remittance must be accompanied by a requesting form including the following information:
    a) the analysis which may be performed in each sample,
    b) all sample data for the final report (worker name, sector, inscription, etc.);
  4. when transporting samples in highway systems, we suggest using night scheduled transportation, which enhances ice's life;
  5. independent of the selected transportation way, we urge you to inform us by telephone (+55 -11- 5573-9388 / 5571-2251 / 5573-8780) or fax (+55 -11- 5571-2061), the carrier name, the sender name, the expected departure and arriving time and the freight order number, for us to arrange immediate pick up at the station or cargo terminal. Do not ask for home delivery.
Since we have no expedient on Saturdays, we recommend not dispatching samples on Fridays.
